50 ways we changed in the ‘00s project  Take a minute and think about how your life was different 10 years ago. Granted, you were seven or eight years old so your daily schedule looked different than it does today. But what if you had a sibling who was in second grade this year? How does his lifestyle look different from yours 10 years ago? Speculate.

Read the attached Associated Press article that appeared in The Gazette [Cedar Rapids]. Ask about any words you don’t know. Take a guess as to what they mean—don’t just skip them!

Now list the top five changes that you think are most important or have had the most impact on your life. Explain their significance.

On a sheet of lined paper, write five entries that could appear in a similar article entitled “5 ways we changed in the 10s.” Follow the format of the article.

Dealing with Change article  As you read this article, think about changes —past, present and future changes— and ask yourself if you have used any of these coping techniques. When you read the list of strategies for mastering change, choose the two that you think are most important. Be prepared to discuss them. On your Google Doc journal page, write three main points from the article. Share the Google Doc with me.
